Senior Project Update #3

Nothing exceptionally interesting happened this week. I was able to work out five of the seven days which is a new record for this project. I worked out on Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. My form has improved drastically, mainly due to me lowering the weight on the bar to focus on the path of the bar. My arms felt much better after chest day this week than last week even though I ended up lifting more weight.

One thing I learned this week is how to tell if grilled fish is ready. I had a talk with Peter where he asked me how I knew a fish was ready. That's when I realized, I never really knew. Usually, half the fish would be ready (the pieces in the center of the grill) and the other half would need to stay on a little while longer. I searched on the internet how to tell when fish is ready to found that the interior of the fish should be between 140-145 degrees and about a nifty fork trick to cut into the fish to see if it breaks at an angle. The fish I made this week was much better than the one I had made previously but there are still improvements to make! I have a wonderful habit of way oversalting which I need to correct.

My attempt to learn how to read and write in Russian has been shaky at best. I am having trouble remembering that letters in the English and Russian alphabet that look the same don't sound the same. For instance, a "p" in Russian sounds like an "r" in English. I'm not quite sure what the inventors of the Russian language were thinking when they decided to copy British letters and make them sound different but nevertheless, the struggle continues.

This past week I have also made a couple chicken dishes that turned out well, including a chicken recipe that was meant to emulate Chipotle's chicken. Although the chicken tasted nothing like Chipotle's delectable poultry it was good regardless.

One question I have is what recipe should I try in my last week of senior projects?

Below is a picture of my fish!

  1. Your food looks very tasty - хорошо! I, too, think that cooking fish is hard - so I applaud your efforts to master this.

  3. This seems awesome! It’s pretty cool how improving form can help so much with lifting. Also, the details with the fish is great. Keep up the good work and keep getting swole😤😤💪💪
